Lake District complementary therapists & psychotherapists

The Lake District is a fine place to recover your calm, your inner poise, and perhaps even take a spa break. If you're looking for therapy treatments, whether for the mind or the body, or you want to find the right practitioner for your needs, you might start your search here.

You may discover how wonderful a deep tissue massage is after an arduous day on the fells......or maybe some other kind of treatment which will help you to get over the exertion!

If you are a therapist, a complementary practitioner offering holistic treatments, or a beauty therapist, and you'd like to be listed on this page, send us an email with your details.

Emotional Process Work - Healing The Shadow

I don't believe that there are yet any therapists with an interest in working with the shadow in the Lake District, but it would certainly be a great place to hold a shadow healing retreat if anybody's interested! As far as I know at the moment, the focal point of shadow work and emotional process work is down in the south and south-west of England.

There are two Healing The Shadow practitioners in Frome Marianne Hill Marianne Hill and Rod Boothroyd, some practitioners in Brighton, and a number of others dotted around the country. If you're interested in doing deep emotional work, then it's well worth trying at this therapy out, because it seems to work much faster than conventional psychotherapy or counselling.

The essence of it is to examine the nature of your shadow, and then to use either individual coaching, or group work, to delve into a regression of the past, to find out the origin of your issues and troubles in the present-day. You can also train as a shadow facilitator practitioner and shadow coach here.

You then set out a scene designed to give you a different outcome to the powerlessness of  what you experienced as a child, thereby transforming your expectations and self-beliefs into something more positive and more appropriate to the present day. If you're interested in fast, effective, and powerful therapeutic work, this is definitely the way to go.
